1″ yellow poly ball with small brass insert on rattan shaft. Similar to KXS2 but lighter/more nimble.
Rattan shaft 7.5mm thick ( + or – due to natural taper of rattan ) and 13.5” long.
Introducing the new KXS3 model xylophone mallet. Features a medium-density poly ball with a small brass insert inside for added weight. Same material as Freer's K7 and KXS2 but in a 1” size and new yellow color. Not as warm as the KXS model because it’s not a cord wound mallet and not as big of a sound as KXS2 and fills a necessary gap as a “tweener” sort of mallet. Great for many Messiaen pieces, Shostakovich Polka, Medea, Mother Goose, American in Paris and MANY others. Perfect mallet for smaller bar xylophones and modern xylophones with new growth wood. Also excellent on wood blocks and temple blocks. Numerous various uses for percussion ensemble and solo/recital pieces and of course chamber music like the Bartok Sonata. A new favorite of Marc Damoulakis, Freer Percussion artist and principal percussionist of the Cleveland Orchestra.
