Bright and articulate.
The Duff 10 model was loosely based on Cloyd Duff’s hand made mallets used on his legendary Hindemith Symphonic Metamorphosis recording. A basic pair of wood sticks was used in the recording session with a thin layer of felt tied on very quickly and crudely. Cloyd wanted to have something available like that, which was extremely bright but more thoughtfully covered so we decided on this chamois version of that stick. Shaft is similar to the 8 but a different turned end 1″ in diameter and covered with extremely tight chamois. Laser engraved, hand sanded, hand pitched/weighed and six layers of finish. Recommended for any early classic or Baroque work, Haydn Handel, Mozart etc. Very bright and articulate, one level below raw wood.
