The six models of the Concerto Series were designed specifically for players looking for a heavier mallet with a big sound that will project through a large ensemble, but who don’t want the contact noise that’s usually associated with this type of mallet. Compared to standard, traditional mallets of similar hardness, the player will immediately notice proportionally more fundamental tone and greater volume. While many synthetic yarns suffer from high-pitched “tick,” this yarn is very quiet on the attack, while exceeding the durability and abrasion resistance of nylon. Some sets of Concerto mallets made in the 1980s and 1990s are still in use – and still not fraying!
SOFT TO MEDIUM – MULTI-TONED – SLATE BLUE
Excellent for general use in all types of solo and ensemble situations. It will produce clear passage work throughout the full range of the marimba. Warm and rich at low volume, with a hint of brightness at higher levels.
