The perfect timpani flip stick.

The Duff 9 is essentially the same wood end as the Duff 8 but also has a dual end which has a small felt covered ball. Perfect for people who like a flip stick more than a 50/50 choice such as the DSWF model. The felt end is in a general hardness. Laser engraved, hand sanded, hand pitched/weighed and six layers of finish. Recommended for Don Juan, Mahler 2, Carter March, Enigma Variations etc. Extremely hard, flipped to general on the other end.

Very nice balance and feel. The taper is towards the felt end of the stick so the balance is definitely biased towards the wood end. However, the are absolutely the perfect stick for the Carter March as long as you make sure to ”play out” on the felt end compared to the wood end to balance the dynamics. They are also fairly small and light it’s difficult to overplay the drums with them even on cheaper timpani.
