Counterblow blocks are traditionally played to open a Japanese theatre performance. Carl Orff wants them used among others in his dramatic work "Oedipus der Tyrann" ("Oedipus the Tyrant", "Großes Klappholz"). The wooden bars produced by Kolberg Percussion have a rectangular basic shape and are clapped together strongly at their curved side.
